Often our clothes meet unfavorably with food, mud, blood, etc. Each matter has its own cleaning method. In this article we have assorted all the different ways to remove stains of all sorts.
11 ways to remove stubborn stains
As a general rule, it is always best to experiment with a hidden part of the garment and wait until it is dry, to check if the garment has not changed color.
- To remove ink stains – Spray alcohol 96% on the stain and around it. Put some absorbing paper under the stain, and keep replacing it with clean paper until there is no more ink on the paper.
Soak the garment in water.
Now clean the stain with a liquid detergent and the wash the garment with both detergent and bleach.
- To remove milk stains – Soak the garment in lukewarm water.
If stain remains splash it with stain remover. Rub and wash with regular water.
- To remove fruit stains – If the stain is rough, scrape it first with a knife to remove as much as possible. Then put the garment in hot water, wash the stained area with water and detergent, rinse with hot water and spray stain remover. Repeat the cycle until the stain disappears.
- To remove wax stains – Place some tissue paper or absorbent paper on top and underneath the stained area and iron it with a hot iron until the wax is absorbed into the paper. Spray stain remover and wash by hand or machine.
- To remove chocolate stains – Scrape the chocolate gently with a knife, splash stain remover and wash as usual.
- To remove coffee stains – Splash stain remover on both sides of the stain. Soak the garment for about an hour in water and wash by hand with hot water, as hot as you can.
- To remove mayonnaise stains – Scrape the mayonnaise with a sharp knife, splash stain remover, wait about ten minutes and wash with very hot water.
- To remove wine stains – Pour some washing liquid on the stain, add some bleach, scrub lightly and wash in your regular laundry.
- To remove mustard stains – Remove the mustard gently with a knife, rinse the garment with regular water, spray stain remover, wait about 15 minutes and wash in a regular laundry.
- To remove blood stains – Wash in normal water. If stain remains mix a bit of whitener in the water, and soak the garment for half an hour.
- To remove mud stains – Wait until the mud has dried and scrape the stain with a non-sharp knife. Apply detergent, wait half an hour and wash as usual. If the stain does not come off, spray stain remover and wash as usual.
