Laundry should be done right.
Laundry seems like a simple task. What’s the problem, toss everything into the machine, add some washing gel, close the door, press the button, let it run… wait, remove, dry and that’s it. The laundry is done.
But that is not always the case. For many of us an unpleasant surprise awaits when we take out the laundry. Many of the stains have not come off, the white is not so white and so on. If you know some of the basic rules about how to wash properly, the task will be simpler and the laundry will come out cleaner, fragrant and pleasant.
If you are still unpleased with your results, you can always find a laundry in Jerusalem that will be happy to wash your laundry professionally.
Nine Tips for Proper Laundry:
- It is important to separate the clothes before putting them in the laundry. Separate the white laundry from the colored laundry so that it does not paint it. If you have a large amount of colored laundry, you should separate bright colored laundry from dark colored laundry.
- It is important to check the label attached to the clothes for the laundry instructions. There could be clothes with special instructions. Collect all the clothes with the same instructions and wash them together. Even if there is only one garment with special laundry instructions, it is worthwhile to give it the time and wash it separately.
- If the label on the garment says that the garment is not suitable for machine washing and only for manual washing follow these instructions. If you do not – the odds are the garment will be harmed.
- Do not fill the machine to its maximum capacity. Always fill less than the maximum. That will make it easier for the machine and the laundry will come out cleaner.
- White Laundry? Fill the machine only with white laundry. Add bleach or use detergent containing bleach. If you follow the instructions, your laundry will be white and beautiful every time

- Bed linen and towels should be washed separately. The water in Israel is hard and in order to maintain the softness, add a high quality softener. You can also add half a cup of Sodium Bicarbonate into the powder box. Sodium Bicarbonate has many virtues, among other things it also softens the laundry.
- Check the pockets carefully, especially the children’s clothes, before putting your clothes in the washing machine. Scraps of paper, candy, coins, and other items that children, and adults, would put in their pockets. These objects can block and damage the washing machine and stain the clothes.
- Do not leave the clothes in the washing machine for too long after the washing is done. Leaving them in the washing machine gives the clothes an unpleasant smell can be hard to get rid of for a long time.
- Dry the laundry with a drying machine. Try to use a low drying temperature. Drying the laundry at a high temperature can damage the clothes, shrink them, and crumple them.
